Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 20, 2026

This privacy policy covers the website butterstickgames.com and our mobile and Steam games (Android, iOS and other platforms).

1. Controller

Responsible for data processing under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Creationes Virtuales CV GmbH
Bremsstraße 1a
50969 Cologne, Germany
Email: [email protected]

2. General Principles

We collect as little personal data as possible. This website does not use cookies, external fonts, advertising networks, or automated decision-making. Our games do not require an account. Analytics in our games runs only if you explicitly agree to it (see section 5). Some of our mobile games show ads (see section 6).

3. Website Hosting and Server Log Files

This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA). When you visit the site, Cloudflare technically necessarily processes connection data (IP address, date and time of access, requested resource, browser and operating system information) to deliver the pages and to protect against attacks. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR — our legitimate interest in providing a secure, reliable website. A data processing agreement with Cloudflare is in place; transfers to the USA are safeguarded by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Cloudflare's certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

4. Contact by Email

If you contact us by email, we process the data you provide (email address, message content) to handle your request. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (if your request relates to a contract, e.g. a purchase) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in answering inquiries). Email routing is handled via Cloudflare. We delete correspondence once your request is fully resolved, unless statutory retention periods apply.

5. Analytics in Our Games (GameAnalytics) — only with your consent

When you first start one of our games, we ask for your consent to anonymous usage analytics. You can decline, and the game works fully without any analytics. This applies to each of our games individually. If you decline, no analytics data is collected and no connection to the analytics service is made.

If you consent, we use GameAnalytics (GameAnalytics ApS, Copenhagen, Denmark) to collect basic session data: session start and end, session length, a randomly generated installation identifier (not linked to your person or device identifiers such as the advertising ID), device model, operating system version, platform, and app version. We use this data solely to understand how our games are used and to improve them. No custom gameplay events, no location data, and no contact data are collected.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by contacting us at [email protected]; you can also stop all data collection by uninstalling the app. For details, see the GameAnalytics privacy policy.

6. Advertising in Our Games (Google AdMob)

Our mobile games display ads served by Google AdMob (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). AdMob may process device identifiers (e.g. the advertising ID) and usage data to deliver ads and prevent abuse.

Users in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland are asked for consent when they first launch the game and may decline personalized advertising. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR (consent) for personalized advertising and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in financing our games) for non-personalized advertising. For more information, see the Google Privacy Policy and how Google uses data from partner sites and apps.

7. Game Services (Talo)

Our games use Talo (trytalo.com) as their game backend to provide core online features such as leaderboards, statistics, daily challenges, and in-game feedback forms. For this purpose the following data is processed: a randomly generated player identifier, your chosen display name, your scores, and — if you use a feedback form — the message you submit.

This processing is necessary to provide these game features and is based on Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (performance of the contract to provide our games' online features). If you play without using leaderboards or online features, only the technical minimum is processed.

8. Google Play Games Services (optional)

On Android you can optionally sign in with Google Play Games (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to use achievements and Google leaderboards and to keep your identity across devices. If you sign in, Google processes your Play Games profile data under its own terms — see the Google Privacy Policy. Signing in is voluntary; our games are fully playable without it. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR for providing the requested features.

9. Local Data

Your game progress, settings, and statistics are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app deletes this local data.

10. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

11. Children

Our games are intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Our games require no account, and analytics and personalized advertising run only after explicit consent.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this privacy policy when our games or the services they use change. The current version is always available at pixelpry.com/privacy-policy.
